Marlette’s Nursing Home Ranks in Top 15% Nationwide

Marlette Regional Hospital is pleased to share that its long-term care unit (nursing home) has recently been recognized by the U.S. World & News Report as one of the Best Nursing Homes for 2017-18.

The U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 nursing homes nationwide, and this year nearly 2,300 nursing homes, including Marlette’s, earned the designation of a U.S. News Best Nursing Home. This recognition places Marlette’s nursing home in the top 15% of nursing homes nationwide.

The U.S. News rates nursing homes based on data collected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)—the federal agency that sets and enforces standards for nursing homes. CMS awards star ratings to nursing home facilities based on state-conducted health inspections, adequacy of nurse staffing, and medical quality measures. Marlette Regional Hospital’s nursing home has consistently earned 5-star CMS ratings, indicating a commitment to quality care for its residents.

Marlette Regional Hospital’s CEO Dan Babcock shares, “We are a 39-bed licensed nursing facility, meaning our staff provides care 24/7 for residents that are with us for short- and long-term stays. That is a great responsibility, and families throughout our Thumb Region trust that we care for their loved ones as if they are our own family. To illustrate how dedicated our staff is to upholding that responsibility, following the most recent CMS on-site inspection that was conducted last October, our nursing home earned a citation-free (0 citation) survey indicating that we met or exceeded all quality measures that were evaluated. The Michigan average for 2017 inspections was 8.9 citations. The data speaks for itself, and we couldn’t be more proud of the compassion and dedication to quality that our staff uphold.”

Marlette Regional Hospital invites you to join them in recognizing their long-term care team and all support staff in this noteworthy accomplishment!
