Dillinger Ride Supports United Hospice Service

Motorcycle enthusiasts from near and far gathered at The Inn Between Saloon in Port Hope, MI for the annual Dillinger Ride on May 27th. Pictured above, ABATE Region 7 Chairman Tim Polk (right) presents United Hospice Service representative Becky Heminger with a donation for the hospice program. The annual Dillinger Ride sponsored by The Inn Between Saloon, owned and operated by Jayne and Bob Click of Port Hope, raised $3,690 to support United Hospice Service (UHS) of Marlette Regional Hospital and ABATE Region 7. This annual fundraiser took place on Saturday, May 27th.

The event was established thirteen years ago as a memorial tribute to the life of Jim (Dillinger) Friedland. Since Jim was a patient of hospice, his parents Willet and Joyce Friedland, along with family, friends and the saloon, decided to honor him by helping to support other patients and families receiving hospice care. The continued support and annual donations raised through the Dillinger Ride help to ensure that the best hospice care is available to patients and their families throughout the Thumb region.

The Dillinger Ride is held each year on the Saturday before Memorial Day at the Inn Between Saloon in Port Hope. For more information about United Hospice Service, please call 800-635-7490 or visit www.marletteunitedhospice.org.
