August Lunch and Learn Focuses on Drug Issues in Sanilac County

McKenzie Health System welcomes Sanilac County Sheriff Deputy Chris Kravitsky to present the “Latest on Drug Abuse in Sanilac County” at the August Lunch and Learn workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, August 16, 2017, from Noon to 1 p.m., in the McKenzie Health System Dining Room. Lunch and Learn is a community education series held every third Wednesday of the month. The cost for the workshop is $5, and lunch is included in the price. Due to limited space, pre-registration is required by calling Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127 or emailing nbarnett@mckenziehealth.org.

“Illegal use of opioids, including heroin, is on the rise across the country and Sanilac County,” reports Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System. “Not only is drug abuse up, but deaths from overdoses have increased dramatically as well. It’s important that Sanilac County residents familiarize themselves with the signs of drug use and overdose, so that steps can be taken to save lives. Deputy Kravitsky will provide information and answer questions regarding this important issue at the August 16 Lunch and Learn workshop.”

“The workshop will be presented in a relaxed, personal atmosphere, where audience members will feel free to ask questions,” adds Blasius. “And all attendees will have a nutritious, healthy meal. We hope you will join us as we address this timely and critical topic!”
